This game follows the life ofa biker named Deacon St John and his fight for survival in the post-apocalyptic world of the Pacific Northwest caused by a disease that turned all those infected into
what the locals are calling "Freakers". They share many characteristics with the zombies in pop-culture, hunger for people, moving in large hordes, and infecting those who are bitten.
The story is split into two main parts, the first half takes place in the south where we learn about Deacon's various connections to all the local communities and the people who live here.
We also learn about Deacon's past where we find out that he was married to one of the scientists who worked for the company who made the virus. After they were seperated in the beginning of the story
she is presumed dead by him but later finds proof that says otherwise and goes north to find her.
There is much more to the story but I do not think i'm doing a proper job of describing it. I personally think it is best experienced by someone and not told.
The gameplay of Days Gone is an open world, FPS, survival, crafting game where you go to various locations on your customizable motorcycle and gather materials, killing zombies, and doing quests for the various communities. There is also a skill tree system that will help you make better items and improve your odds of survival
Unfortunately due to a poor developement and multiple glitches causing reviwers to absolutely hate the game upon initial release. As time went on however people started to see how great this game was and gave it a chance
After people gave it a chance it was widely praised while being nominated for many awards and even winning a few in the process:
